Recently purchased the 44l for an off grid beach camping/fishing trip in Shark Bay. We ran the fridge as a freezer for 2 weeks solid at -18 degrees powered by a Dometic PLB40 and solar panels. This fridge nailed a constant temp and kept our meat and pink snapper frozen perfectly and we managed to bring home a great catch! We also used it to refreeze ice packs and water bottles for the eskies and all worked flawlessly. All in all, very impressed. This unit is solidly built and just does what you expect. Upgraded from waeco cf40. have had the fridge running continuous for over a week now. set at -1. loaded with a mixture of drinks/meats/salads/cheese and fruit. compared temps from in built system and separate wireless unit.the fridge maintained its temp with only minor fluctuations - @.05 degree throughout the week both day and night with ambient temps ranging from @10 - 36degrees in the rear of 4wd. all without a cover. very happy so far with fridge.
having power connections both ends is great but if u have access and want to use 240V and u want to see the control panel and lift the lid with front opening then the lead plugs into front only. which means you might need to add a short extension lead cause supplied lead is just a tad short when u slide fridge out with power plugged in towards the rear of unit. if your fridge is in a fixed spot then it should work OK with supplied lead.
